Reigning by terror is as old as human history. War on all sides is never humane and even Terrorists also call their targets the "terrorists." But what in fact is a terrorist? What is the difference between a liberation army and a terrorist group? Most terrorist organizations claim to be freedom fighters and the liberators of their people, but often act against the will of the people. Therefore can we assume those who use terror to rule or in an attempt to rule against the will of people are terrorists?
Lets look together at some examples of the use of terror throughout human civilizations evolution.
The earliest known organization acknowledged to use methods of terrorism is a group called the Zealots, who emerged in history at the dawn of the 1st Century CE, in ancient Israel. These ancient Jewish terrorists would use assassination in strategic efforts to dismantle the powerful Roman occupation of Judea. Known to the Romans as the Sicarii, or dagger-men, they perused an underground campaign of assassinations of Roman occupational forces, as well as Jewish civilians they believed had collaborated with the Romans. Such killings usually took place in daylight and in front of witnesses, with the perpetrators using such acts to send a threatening message to the Roman authorities and those Jews who collaborated with them. Their motive was an uncompromising belief that they could not remain faithful to Judaism while living as subjects of Rome, under Roman authority. An example of early religious extremism, they believed that their right to the territory of Judea was God ordained and that their efforts in fighting to regain control over the lands were also backed by God; that victory was promised in their holy scriptures. Zealots played a major role in inciting and sustaining the large Jewish uprising against the Romans that began in 66 CE. The Zealot movement eventually led to open warfare against Rome and was finally culled in the besiegement of the fortification of Masada in 73 CE. Instead of surrendering to the Romans, surviving Zealot members committed mass suicide.
At a much later date, around the 12th Century CE, the Hashshashins, A.K.A. the Assassins emerged as another group showing noticeable characteristics of terrorism, as we define it today. They are thought to have been active from 1090 CE to 1272 CE. Founded in Iran in the 1090s by a man named Hasan-I Sabbah, this breakaway sect of Shia Islam known as the Nizari Ismailis strategically adopted the tactic of assassinating key enemy leaders, because of the small group’s limited manpower which prevented open combat. The tactic of sending a lone assassin to kill a key enemy leader, at an almost certain sacrifice to his own life inspired fearful awe in their enemies. This enigmatic cult was known to specialize in terrorizing the European Crusaders with fearlessly executed, politically motivated assassinations, but they did not only target Christian Crusaders, they primarily targeted rival Islamic rulers they saw as corrupt. Many of the victims would be Islamic politicians or clerics that would not accept the Assassin version of Islam they were spreading. Often killings would take place in public locations such as Mosques in a way that fully exposes the murder and entices fear.
Another early group that exerted characteristics of terrorism are the Thugees, from India, from whom we derive the word “Thug”. The Thugees are reputed by some to be responsible for as many as 100,000 to 2,000,000 murders, using robbery killings as a religious ritual. This Indian religious cult would ritually strangle victims, who were usually travelers chosen at random, as an offering to the Hindu goddess of terror and destruction, Kali. Their strategy was to befriend unsuspecting travelers and win their trust; when the travelers allowed the thugs to join them, the group of thugs killed them at a suitable place and time before robbing them. The Thugees are known to have operated from the 17th century (possibly as early as 13th century) to the 19th century, when they were wiped out by the 1870s by the British authorities in India. To this day there still may be a small number of Thugees still actively practicing ritualistic murder in India in our present age, but little trace of the cult can today be found.
The Reign of Terror
The words “Terrorist” and “Terrorism”, were first used during the French Revolution. Use of the word “terrorism” began in 1795 in reference to the Reign of Terror initiated by the Revolutionary government. Those revolutionaries who upheld and enforced the policies of “The Terror” were referred to as “Terrorists”. Under the Reign of Terror about 250,000 people were arrested, 17,000 were tried and guillotined, many with little if any means to defend themselves, another 12,000 were executed without trial, and thousands more died in jail. Also both King Louis XVI and the Queen, Marie-Antoinette, of France, were executed by Revolutionary forces in 1793.
Maximilien Robespierre, a French revolutionary leader, viewed terrorism as vital if the new French Republic was to survive its infancy, proclaiming in 1794 that: “Terror is nothing other than justice, prompt, severe, inflexible; it is therefore an emanation of virtue; it is not so much a special principle as it is a consequence of the general principle of democracy applied to our country's most urgent needs.” This quote shows us clearly, how important terror was to the radical revolutionaries. To them terrorism initially, was a positive term.
Though thousands died in the French Revolution and as a result from war, the economy was set back nearly a generation, there were some undeniably positive benefits of the “Reign of Terror”. The French monarchy was overthrown and equal rights were instated. The Revolution offers lessons about liberty and democracy and promotes the will of the people before the voracity of the monarchy. Among the most notable changes were, the elimination of the nobility as a legally defined class and the granting of the same civil rights to all citizens; the elimination of guilds and other organizations that monopolized production, controlled prices and wages, or obstructed economic activity through strikes; the extension of rights to blacks in France and to mulattoes in France’s Caribbean colonies, though not the outright abolition of slavery; and the granting of full civil rights to religious minorities, including Protestants and Jews.
Islamic terror has existed as long as the religion of Islam has. For over 15 centuries Muslims have been forcefully oppressing non believers, compelling them violently into submission to Islam. Militant Islamists, since the dawn of Islam, have been massacring scores of people in the name of Islam. Extremist Muslims for centuries have pillaged and murdered spreading Islam to conquered territories.
For a time Islam was uncannily successful militarily and the mysterious military triumph most definitely encouraged millions to join the Islamic movement that once was a vast empire spreading from its origins in Saudi Arabia in the 7th century, throughout Spain to the boarders of France and all throughout the Middle East, to the borders of India by the 8th century. It was through perpetually violent means Islam spread throughout the world, and not by God’s divine grace, but the Devil’s diabolic conniving.
Muslim extremists only create carnage slaughtering men, women and children in the name of their false god Allah. They worship Satan by turning to the ways of war, ignoring God’s commandments of peace. Jihadists hide behind weapons, abandoning reason for madness and only inflict suffering and death upon those they see as nonbelievers or those they see as inferior. Never seeing the true light of God, they hide behind an enigmatic shroud of darkness, striking like venomous serpents from their hiding places only to spread the insidious virus of religious sectarian violence.
Statistics gathered for 2014, by the U.S. Department of State states that terrorist attacks took place in 95 countries in 2014. 60% of these attacks were inflicted upon five countries (Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, India and Nigeria), also 78% of all fatalities as a result of terror attacks were inflicted upon five countries (Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Syria). In 2014, on average there were 1,122 terror attacks, causing 2,727 deaths, and 2,899 injuries per month across the world. Many of these attacks were inspired by Islam.
Islamic terrorist acts have included airline hijacking, beheading, kidnapping, assassination, roadside bombing, suicide bombing, and occasionally rape. Terrorist tactics of Islamic extremists have been brutal and malice. But the scariest part, is the Islamic extremists believe their are great eternal awards for committing wicked acts of terror needlessly upon common people.
Soon we will be most likely dealing with terrorists armed with biological, chemical or nuclear weapons of mass destruction. This gives Islamic extremism the potential of being the most deadly diabolic movement of all time, greater than that of Nazism.
Christianity, unlike the birthing of Islam which was spread by militant force, was first spread by the martyr, those willing to die peacefully preaching their faith to the unbelievers, embracing the ultimate sacrifice to spread their beliefs. But as the influence of Christianity grew, more and more corruption began to infiltrate the ranks of Christendom.
Terrorism became a practice of the Christian institution in the Dark Ages. The Inquisitions, the Crusades, Christian witch hunts and the Thirty Years War between Protestants and Catholics, in the Dark Ages, led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands if not more than a million people. Crusades, Inquisitions, Witch hunts, all justified by the Catholic church, allowed the systematic imprisonment, torture and killing of scores upon scores of innocent people deemed as “heretic”, including Jews, Muslims and certain Christians with doctrinal views separate than that commissioned by the papacy.
Christian terror is one reason why Christianity has often not been the solution for our world’s problems, but instead at times has been the source of many terrible things. It has throughout history passively allowed evil to rein and has at many points throughout our history, walked hand and hand with the Devil, instead of walking hand and hand with God.
However today in our more modern age, Christianity is a positive moral influence for millions of people. Though I strongly believe it falls short of the glory of God, it is still today a peaceful movement. Christianity seems to have shed much of its violent heritage and has reconciled more so with the peaceful essence of God.
The Ku Klux Klan
The first terrorist group to have operated on American soil was known as the Ku Klux Klan, or KKK. Ku Klux Klan organizations in the United States have advocated white supremacy, antisemitism, anti-Catholicism, racism, homophobia, anti-Communism and nativism. The KKK is a prime example of terrorism. They have used violence, and acts of intimidation such as cross burning, censure and lynching to entice fear into opposition. In their assassination campaigns, the KKK was responsible for murdering even women and children, in an attempt to further their cause of white supremacy.
The original group was first founded in 1866 by veterans of the confederate army and at its peak Klan membership exceeded 4 million and comprised 20% of the adult white male population in many broad geographic regions, and as high as 40% in some areas. Most of the membership resided in Midwestern states.
The Ku Klutz Klan became a diabolic American form of Nazism. The same plight of evil racism that surged through the Nazi “Aryan Race” is a torrent in the hearts of white supremacists, not only in America, but all over the world. Ignorant beliefs in a “master race”, is a deluded misconception that has been senselessly fallowed by millions of arrogant, self-righteous idiots who fail to realize that bigotry is in the eyes of the lesser man and true superiority evolves from pursuit of God’s holy anointing, not through the oppression of so called “inferior races”.
What is the superior man; one who is peaceful, meek and black, or one who is belligerent, arrogant and white? I think if we look to the divine inspiration of God, we will see that in spite of color, race, nationality, creed, gender or even sexuality or mental and physical handicaps, in the eyes of God, those who are humble peacemakers are greater by far than belligerent aggressors who rein terror on the innocent.
The unleashing of Nazi terror was responsible for more mass destruction than any other power at the time. The Nazis were the number one cause of the Second World War, provoking the greatest military upheaval ever known to man. Today the consequences of Nazi evil still resonate powerfully. No part of the world was unaffected by the Nazi plight and there are very few who have not learned of the treacheries of the Nazi party and their infamous leader, Adolph Hitler.
The Nazis are absolutely the greatest example of terrorism throughout all of History. Their reign of terror led to the deaths of well over 45 million allied soldiers and civilians. Of the 45 million allied casualties, there includes around 10 million unarmed people killed in the holocaust.
Approximately 6 million Jews, hundreds of thousands of Romani (Gypsies), over 3 million soviet prisoners of war and hundreds of thousands many other peoples the Nazis saw as “undesirables”, like people with mental or physical handicaps and homosexuals, all died in the holocaust, manifest by the wickedness of Nazi terror.
Nazi ideology was a purely evil manifestation of Satan’s unholy will. It placed the German race, known as the “Aryan race”, upon a pedestal of racial superiority and placed all others underneath the cascade of wickedness they reigned down upon millions. The hearts of the Nazis was corrupt by the belligerent hate of the devil and they became the wrath of Diablo incarnate in flesh, paving way to more carnage than any other terrorist forces to have existed up until today.
In the 20th century the reign of soviet terror was abysmal. Especially under the leadership of Joseph Stalin, the Soviet communist regime caused the deaths of millions of USSR subjects. Deaths were the result of executions, forced famine, labour camps and forced deportations. Early researchers attempting to tally the number of people killed under Stalin's regime were forced to rely largely upon anecdotal evidence. Their estimates ranged from as low as 3 million to as high as 60 million, deaths. When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 however, evidence from the Soviet archives finally became available. The archives record that about 800,000 prisoners were executed (for either political or criminal offences) under Stalin, while about 1.7 million died in labour camps and some 389,000 perished during kulak forced resettlement — a total of about 3 million victims.
Debate continues, however, since some historians believe the archival figures to be unreliable. For example, some argue that the many suspects tortured to death while in "investigative custody" were likely not counted among t he executed. Also, there are certain categories of victim which it is generally agreed were carelessly recorded by the Soviets — such as the victims of ethnic deportations, or of German population transfer in the aftermath of WWII.
The immense amount death under the soviet communist regime is an utter disgrace to the ideals of communism. Parading with the façade of equality, the USSR regime brutally decimated millions with the totalitarian power they possessed. Instating communism as a means of improving and securing the quality of life of the average worker, the communist reign of terror only devastated millions, doing far more harm then good.
The provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) is an outgrowth of a group that fought for and won independence from Britain during the years 1916-1921, when Ireland was partitioned and the six northern counties reconstituted as the British province of Ulster or Northern Ireland. The provisional IRA emerged during the late 1960s styling itself as the defenders of the Roman Catholic minority in the North whose efforts to win civil rights peacefully were met by force by the Protestant "unionist" majority. Well into the 1990s, the organization employed sniper attacks, bombings and assassination in a quest to end British rule in Northern Ireland and unify the province with the neighbouring Republic of Ireland. Sinn Fein, which means "Ourselves Alone" in the Gaelic language, is the IRA's political wing.
Moderate settlements between the IRA, the UK and other Irish political powers have quashed violence, allowing agendas to advance. This is an example where diabolic extremism was abandoned for a more moderated agreement between conflicting factions. By compromising, both sides can obtain peace and there is less suffering and destruction shared between rival factions. When rivalling groups can outgrow their hatred towards one another, they can then settle their disputes in peace, allowing God’s harmony to manifest between them, forming a bond that can endure tribulations.
Chinese Communist Party
The CCP, also known as the Chinese Communist Party, has controlled China for more almost 6 decades, within that time directly causing the deaths of about 60 to 80 million Chinese people. The CCP’s history of terror has caused the immense destruction of masses of Chinese people existing under the reign of the Chinese Communist Party. The CCP’s history is soaked in the innocent blood of the men, women and children who died in their clutches. It quite possibly caused more death than World War One and World War Two combined, yet still reins in control of China and the Chinese people.
In 1949 the Chinese Communist Party won a civil war and established China’s current government. The Communists initiated many social and political changes. The most significant campaigns were the transition to a planned economy in the 1950s (Centrally Planned Economy); the Cultural Revolution, in which students loyal to Communist leader Mao Zedong attacked intellectuals and party leaders, in the late 1960s; and the economic reform movement, begun in the late 1970s, that reintroduced aspects of a free-market economy and encouraged foreign investment.
Today the CCP terrorises millions of its subjects, outlawing the organization of religious groups and political parties that could defy the CCP’s political policies. They have banned the basic rights of many to have intellectual, spiritual, social and political freedoms, forcing millions to conform under their tyrannical rule. Yet even though their terrorist tyranny suppresses millions of their people, they are still the largest political organization on the planet, with over 80 million members, 6% of the total population of China.
One example of CCP persecution today can be witnessed with the millions of Falun Gong practitioners, being persecuted by the terrible regime of the CCP. Falun Gong is a peaceful spiritual meditation practice based on principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. In the attempt to eradicate the practice, practitioners have been publicly vilified by state media, fired from their jobs, and subject to widespread torture in custody, beatings, illegal imprisonment, psychiatric abuses, and forced labour terms.
The leaders of the CCP disgrace God with arrogant tyranny, crushing freedom in an iron gauntlet of evil. Satan reigns through totalitarian superiority and God cannot enter into the stone cold hearts of the CCP leaders to convict them of their wrong doings. The CCP goes on committing terrible crimes and feels no remorse towards the evil acts it commits.
The Messianic view on Terror
Terror is the unholy pursuit of forcing one's agenda upon a people by suppressing, harming, or killing them. Throughout history millions have died at the diabolic hands of terror, and today we face the threat of global mass extinction due to possibility terrorists utilizing weapons of mass destruction. One act of terror utilizing nuclear, chemical or biological weapons, could spark a domino effect that spirals our world into the Apocalypse. Terror is worship of Satan and not God's will for humankind.
The Messianic way is of peace even if it leads to martyrdom. Islamic jihadists have defined martyrdom as dying in battle for one's faith, but true martyrdom is dying as a righteous and peaceful expression of the faith in God. Righteousness is self-sacrificing, and not violently forceful. To be a true follower of Christ, one must hold up the banner of God at all costs, even if it means dying horribly under the wrath of opposition. It's not God's will for people to kill for their ideology, but that if they truly believe in something to express it peacefully and respectfully.
The early Christian church set the true example of martyrdom, dying to proclaim their faith in Christ. Early in Christendoms history, thousands of Christians were crucified, burned alive, fed to lions and gruesomely murdered under the terror of the time. It wasn't until Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire in 380 CE, that Christendom became a persecutor and terrorist of what was seen as false religion. Due to the "holy" Roman Empire terrorizing non-believers, many perished, and a great divide between Christians and non-Christians was formed and still exists powerfully today.
Humankind is divided by religion, culture, language, ethnicity, nationality, social status and in over 7 billion other ways, but the truth is we are one world with one Heavenly Father who seeks to save Universally in spite of our differences. God's Universal love reaches down to Earth, to pick up the pieces of our broken humankind and raise us beyond the tribulations we face. The problems we are enduring are so immense, but God is truly working in all ways, at all times, for the greater good of all that exists.
The Devil wants to destroy our entire world, through the conflict and waste of the human race, and is succeeding in his agenda of bringing about the Apocalypse. Truly we have one enemy, Satan, and he works diligently to destroy us. The Devil points the blame and guilt at our neighbor, and causes violence and oppression directed towards people, though in reality the only true enemy we should be fighting is Satan and his influence on all of creation.
This can be done by repenting of the sin in your life, before you criticize, find faults in, or fight against the sin in your neighbors life. Once you are walking in true penitence, you can see the problems in the world from a righteous standpoint and take a stand against it peacefully, even if it leads to your mortal destruction. Greater are the rewards in Heaven than all the power and treasures in the world. Following the will of God will lead to a glorious salvation and will be rewarded according to your deeds.
Religious beliefs will not deliver you. Only the pursuit of the Lord can deliver you spiritually beyond the calamity of our fallen world. All the pain and suffering that has been caused by people pursuing war and terror, is overcome only through Christ, and in the Final Judgment the diabolic spirit of Satan will be condemned to eternal destruction. All wickedness will be eradicated by the loving graceful hand of God, and wrath will be poured out upon our one true enemy the Devil.
I would greatly implore you to read the Epic Testament and learn the true origins of our Universe. The mission of this site is to educate and equip God's children with the power to overcome the sin of humankind and the grand deception the Devil has enveloped our entire world within. Please take the time to read and understand the true message of God through Christ in our End Times.
